REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE SERVICES
The Berks County Housing Authority (BCHA) is soliciting proposals from qualified licensed real estate brokers and/or agents to provide professional real estate services related to the listing and sale of three (3) properties owned by the Housing Authority.
Scope of Services
The selected real estate professional will be expected to provide services including, but not limited to:
- Evaluate each property and provide recommendations regarding listing price and marketability;
- Develop and implement an appropriate marketing strategy for each property;
- List the properties through applicable Multiple Listing Services (MLS) and other appropriate marketing platforms;
- Coordinate property photographs, advertising, showings, and open houses, as appropriate;
- Communicate regularly with BCHA regarding activity, inquiries, and offers;
- Present and assist BCHA in evaluating purchase offers;
- Assist with negotiations and preparation of documents associated with the sale of the properties;
- Coordinate with BCHA, prospective purchasers, attorneys, title companies, and other parties through closing; and
- Provide other customary real estate brokerage services necessary to successfully market and sell the properties.
Proposal Requirements
Interested firms or individuals should submit a brief proposal containing:
- Name, address, telephone number, and contact information;
- Pennsylvania real estate broker/agent license information;
- Summary of relevant experience, particularly with governmental, municipal, housing authority, or similar properties;
- Proposed marketing strategy;
- Proposed commission rate and any additional fees or costs;
- References from at least three (3) recent clients, if available; and
- Any additional information demonstrating the proposer’s ability to successfully complete the engagement.

BCHA reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive informalities or irregularities, request additional information, negotiate with any proposer, and select the proposal determined to be in the best interest of the Housing Authority. Selection will not necessarily be based solely upon the lowest commission or fee.
